A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Loved the food, unfortunately the staff didnt speak English but at least they were patient for us to use translator. Food, especially the broth is awesome. 10/10 recommend"
"We came here twice for the food while we stayed in Munich. Food is decent. The cashier lady seems tired every time and gave out a feel that she doesn’t want to work anymore. You pick the food you want in your bowl and then pay based on the weight. There’s a minimal weight per bowl; if you don’t meet the minimal weight, they’d send you back to pick more food. I tried the beef broth and mushroom broth. I tried the extra spicy for the beef broth. It’s not spicy at all. They gave very little soup the first time and it got better the end time when I visited. Both soup bases are good. If you want a bowl of white rice, you pay an extra 2 euro. The sauce bar is very messy but they have a good variety of choices."
"I had such a great experience here! The malatang was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic spicy food! The service was impressively fast, everything was served fresh and hot. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-organized, which made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back again! :)"
"Superb n satisfying!! After days of having German/ Bavarian food, we need our Asian food fix. We have high expectations towards Asian food that we can find in our home country AND after reading reviews from fellow homies that “this is as good as what we can get in our country” - our expectations were raised even higher ! Indeed , it didn’t disappoint us. The food is fresh, broth is savory. Though tomato based soup was not bad, but it’s lighter (a little more bland) than the beef broth and mala soup, but it’s refreshing after too much of beef broth and mala. The mala is not spicy coz we chose mild; perfect for me! The soup is addictive , can’t help but finish the entire bowl"
"The best malatang in Munich. Amazing! The broth tastes super flavorful. Everything is fresh, and you can choose your own spice level, which i love. Definitely my go-to spot whenever i crave malatang"
"Really authentic Chinese malatang that you can find in Munich. The owner was very friendly and willing to help if you don’t know how to order. And the choices are plenty, which are all the kinds that people really eat in China. The flavor was great and the price is reasonable. Definitely worth trying."
"Probably the best place to eat Malatang in Munich! Or at least this is my personal favorite. Located in the heart of the city, it has a very wide variety of of ingredients to choose from and it is 3€/100g you take and then you can choose which soup do you want and how spicy you want it to be. Then they will cook everything you took for you together with the soup you choose. I usually spend 15€ and will always be full and satisfied after eating. I take noodle, some vegetables, a lot of beef, a few pieces of bacon and luncheon meat, and a few fish balls. I would recommend their beef broth soup which for me is the best they have. I will always come back here and I actually do go here often to eat, and yes… it’s that delicious. Recommending everyone to try!!!"
"Took the beef broth, noodles, seafood, tofu, beef stomach.... It is very delicious, no doubt. I will recommend the different tofu and seafood with noodles. The place is neat and clean, finely decorated. The place is very spacious, so you will get the table. The lady is very naive and friendly. Good people. Overall the experience is good. The price depends on how much you get the food. The process is very simple, you go, get a bowl, select the food, for to the cashier, weight and pay. Then the food will be ready within some minutes."
